About Continuous drawing line

  • Input control: Identification of bad quality rolled wire (drawing lines for thick wire)

  • The surface of drawn wire and tubing must be free of cracks, holes and other material defects as even small surface defects can lead to defective end products, critical in items such as surgical instruments. Eddy current testing is extremely successful in detecting surface defects at various stages during the production process. For the best test results, encircling testing is used together with rotational testing.
  • Eddy current probe types

  • Encircling inspection. A robust, simple encircling coil surrounds the test piece and detects a multitude of defects in ferrous (with magnetization) and nonferrous materials.
  • Rotational testing. The eddy current probes of the rotating system spin around the test piece as it moves through the equipment. The rotating system is particularly sensitive to longitudinal defects and excellent for large tube diameters (up to 130 mm (5 1/8 in). PRÜFTECHNIK's series of rotating systems (RS35HS,RS65, RS130) was designed for easy operation and maintenance, and with the raw industrial environment in mind.
